If Your Hair is Thin
Hair is there on your scalp for which you are thankful, but every time the sun shines or you stray under a spotlight you are aware that people can see straight through to your scalp.
Hairdressers tricks can disguise it. Back hair can be brought forward. No partings, especially centre ones. A fashionable bob to cover thin areas, highlights on fair hair. "Modern mousses and thickening setting lotions also help", says Alexa Goodman, who runs hair and beauty salons in Solihull. Thinning hair is so common that we offer vitamin-based hair thickening gel and hair loss treatments. Some of these come from France and some from the big names in hairdressing. Alexa suggests that a regular cut or trim will prevent hair breakage. Having it cut will not stop it from growing as, if it has started to grow normally, it should grow at least half an inch every month. Those with thin and fragile hair should use only good quality combs and bristle hair brushes. Plastic can stretch the hair and cause breakage and split ends.
Wash your hair as often as you like - every day is fine. A gentle shampoo and regular washing with a good scalp massage will keep the scalp healthy, stimulate blood supply to the hair follicles and may even encourage, growth.
